Texting while driving might not seem like a big deal to you, but did you know that it is illegal in the state of Ohio? According to the Ohio DMV under the distracted driving laws "Ohio prohibits the use of handheld electronic devices for text communication..."
That means that you can't legally text while driving anywhere in the state including in Akron, Ohio. Despite the fact that throughout the state it is illegal to text while driving, individuals ignore this law every day. As a result there are thousands of auto accidents each year in Ohio that could have easily been prevented if this law was followed by everyone on the road each and every day.
